Why we invested
When Codefresh was founded, two important shifts were occurring in the market:
- Companies were transitioning to using cloud-native systems, which could support significantly more software applications at a fraction of the cost; and
- Software was becoming mission critical to organisations’ operations and competitive advantage, driving the need for increasingly frequent updates to business-critical applications.
Today, the average enterprise has approximately 500 custom applications and will develop and deploy approximately 40 new applications in a year. This poses an unprecedented challenge for developer teams.
Development teams have moved away from monolith systems built in-house and into microservices where updates and maintenance of applications happen continuously instead of having full blown and disruptive release periods.
