    The Pliops Extreme Data Processor (XDP) optimises a broad range of workloads and addresses the exponential growth of data storage and subsequent computational processing requirements this has created.

Why we invested

As the amount of data produced continues to explode, the problem of processing and storing information becomes an increasing concern. 

Today’s CPU and SSD infrastructure face two great challenges: 

  1. Compute: CPU limitations due to higher computational loads, and 
  2. Storage: Storage limitations as a result of high data amplification. 

Existing solutions to the problem do not fix the root cause and often address the issue by increasing the number of CPUs and SSDs at significant high cost. 

It is becoming increasingly clear that hardware acceleration is the answer to achieving performance gains in the post-Moore’s law era, with solution such as GPUs, IPUs and DPUs. 

Pliops has developed the XDP, which is a key-value (KV) based hardware storage accelerator offering enormous improvements to existing technologies.
